The purpose of the English for High School Preparation (EHSP) is to provide English language instruction to prepare international students for studies at Australian high schools. EHSP classes focus on the language skills required for High School. The course is designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in a high school setting.
The EHSP course is intended to provide EHSP students with the English skills they will need for a smooth transition into the secondary education system proper; it will provide students with an opportunity to make the adjustments need to survive the social and academic rigors of life at an Australian high school.

Students will be able to increase their listening and speaking competency for high school studies. They will get to practice reading about topics as well as completing the types of academic tasks and assignments they will undertake at high school. The course materials provided by the teachers are similar to those that students will encounter at high school to facilitate real-life learning. In addition to English language studies, students will study the English that is specific to subjects like Mathematics, Science and Human Society and Its Environment.
