Online English for Academic Purposes

This course prepares international students for studies at Australian higher education institutions. Classes focus on the language skills and critical thinking skills required for studying in higher education settings.

English skills classes are presented by live teachers. In addition to English skills classes, students will study independently and complete various assessments. There is a strong emphasis on critical thinking. The course allows students to develop the skills they need to be successful in higher education settings.

Students will be able to increase their language competency for higher education studies. They will develop skills in reading and understanding academic journals and texts; writing reports and essays; understanding lectures and presentations; participating in tutorials and group discussions; preparing and giving presentations in class; and engaging in critical thinking and academic research.

There are three levels of study. Each level provides twelve weeks of study. There is regular assessment and students receive feedback on their progress.

Times Academy provides academic pathways that allow students to meet the English proficiency requirements for further studies.
